Predicting Grub Outbreaks

As you know we are big proponent of Healthy Soils = Healthy Lawns. There is a recent study by Kyle Wickings (Dept. of Entomology, Cornell Univ.) that states "While grub damage can be extensive,Kyle's previous work in NY state has determined that roughly 80% of insecticide applications

for grubs are unnecessary.Clearly, there is a need to improve our understanding of the factors that determine grub distribution in turfgrass.

They looked for indicators to finding grub populations on fairways and found that areas with high microbial biomass had fewer grubs. As experts in this industry, Tech Terra is able to help you reduce your pesticide costs and improve your soils. Call us to discuss! (609) 468-1905.
